8am Alex is 1st out and is 3up after 8
9.25am Alex won 4&3. Just had a call from him to let me know his putting was key to winning the match. He was up at 4.30am for his 6.45am tee time and got off to the perfect start by birding the 1st. Solid start and his next question was "how's Brad doing ?"
10.05am Brad is 1 down through 8 but plenty holes to go
10.40am Brad is 3 down through 12 but still enough holes
11.22am Brad lost 4&2. But came up against a very strong opponent and although played well could not get the holes back.
Michael doesn't tee off until 4.45pm but will keep the blog updated with any news.
6.55pm Michael is 3up through 8
7.25pm Michael is 5up through 12 and wins 6&5

WEEKEND STARTS WELL AND THEN GETS EVEN BETTER
Congratulations to Brad Bannerman who topped the Strathmore leaderboard at Muckhart and finished 3 shots behind the stroke play winner and along with Michael Brodie and Alex Simpson have all made the match play stages. Kirsty Brodie would have qualified but the match play is for boys only but she will take a lot of positives forward to next week knowing she did so well. Draw for next Sunday

Then we move on to Sunday and remember yesterday I wrote Strathmore juniors would re write history - well within 24 hours they have. Alex Simpson has become the first player to win the under 14 Coaching Medal for an unprecedented 3rd time a feat which may never again be repeated. What an achievement and what a confidence boost going into the Scottish Boys. Kirsty Brodie took 2nd place also unprecedented and along with Amy Mitchell they were the first girls to compete.

BIG WEEKEND AND BIG WEEK AHEAD
Tomorrow Strathmore juniors start out on their travels buoyed up by the Scratch league teams fantastic result last week. Muckhart, Blairgowrie, West Kilbride and Strathmore make up this weeks itinerary and I can't wait to see how well our players do. With all the practise done now it's time to shine and if last Sundays display is anything to go by Strathmore juniors will be enhancing their reputation even further.
Do yourselves proud and just believe anything is possible.
Just received a message from Alexei
