Alex Simpson had improved his position and was tied 11th after 9 holes with a level par front 9 but slipped back and will hopefully make the cut for the final round tomorrow. Top 70 qualify.

ST ANDREWS JUNIOR LADIES OPEN TOURNAMENT

                

Aboyne's Kimberley Beveridge, Claire Robertson (Carnoustie Ladies) and Hannah Scott (Broomieknowe) all shot 74 in the qualifying round of the St Andrews Junior Ladies Open golf tournament  over the Strathtyrum Course. But they were outplayed on the day by joint leaders Julie Nordin (Norway) and Samantha Taylor (Tynemouth) who both hit the 72 mark.
Players with scores of 78 and better qualified for the scratch match-play. Ex Strathmore player Hannah Robb made the cut with Kirsty Brodie missing out.
