UPDATE FROM EVE MUIRHEAD

In Turkey today Eve was part of the Scottish Team who won the European Curling Mixed Championship. Brilliant result and goes to prove that hard work pays off. 

PRACTICING

Quick reminder to all .

Golf Course Par 72

4 par 3's, 4 par 5's and 10 par 4's.

Only 14 drives required,  if every green was hit in regulation then half of of your score would be putts to make par.

Please remember this and practice in order of importance

1 Putting
2 Chipping or Pitching (use different clubs for the variety of shots required)
3 Short Irons for distance control
4  Fairway Woods, Utility Clubs or long irons
5 Driver

This order will improve your score.

Brad and Michael play in County Am-Am at Gleneagles then Sunday the final of the Highland Spring Junior Masters again at Gleneagles - will keep you posted. Good luck to all.

Megan Aird from the class of 2008 has just Graduated at Elmwood College with a Higher National Certificate in Golf Facility Management. Well done to our first graduate. So much can be achieved in Golf in so many ways.    

SUCCESS RUBS OFF

Thanks to Strathmore Juniors and Gareth Couzens for helping me shoot a personal best 3 over par in the Midlands Alliance Pro -Am at Ladybank today and help our team of Tom McLevy, Willie Hutton, Dougal Spaven and myself to  win the event . On the 7th hole I was blocked out for my second shot and remembering the coaching techniques "hit a high draw" back to the middle of the fairway which assisted in making par . Result !!!  

LADIES CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS

Congratulations to Kirsty Brodie who represented Strathmore Ladies yesterday at Gleneagles, played over the PGA Course - venue for the 2014 Ryder Cup. Jillian Milne Craigiehill won with a better inward half from Eilidh Watson Muckhart (another junior).
