    PERTH AND KINROSS COUNTY COACHING

Perth and Kinross Ladies County Golf Association offer Winter County Coaching to girls in Perth and Kinross, plus they also stage competitons over the summer season which are open to girls of all levels of ability. Even if you are only able to play over 3 holes come along and join us. There is no need to hold a handicap and the County will help and advise you throughout.

Just like Strathmore the County have three levels of coaching. Beginners go to our own Andy Lamb, Intermediates attend Noah's Ark in Perth and the elite girls are very lucky, they go to Gleneagles. As you can see from the photos Strathmore members Megan and Emily Aird are Elite squad members and attended Gleneagles yesterday where their coaching included video swing analysis. Their younger sister Abegail attends the beginners coach, Andy Lamb. I am sure just like her sisters she will also progress through the squads.

Joining fee is only £5.00. If you are at all interested in any of the above please see me (Dawn Butchart 01828 633000/633395) and I can advise you of how to join.

Matthew not only takes part in Junior fixtures but Gents and Mixed events too. Matthew communicates well with all Club members. Grant also takes part in Junior, Gents and Mixed Events and we are sure along with Matthew will be excellent ambassadors for the section.

Come along to the Leaping Launch on Sunday 17th of February at 10.45 and meet your new Captain and Vice Captain.

    JUNIOR SECTION

As per the previous blog, Strathmore Junior Section is being revamped! We have loads of people who are willing to give up their time to help make the Junior Section a much more important and successful part of the Club.
The juniors will be spilt into three sections. The first Section with be the Elite Squad which will be made up of juniors who have a Congu Handicap and play on the 18 hole course. Iain Butchart has agreed to take these Juniors under his wing and will organise and be around for competitions. He will also advise the players of county and national competitions which they should be trying to take part in. Already he has been central in arranging our very first male junior, Allan Easton, to be accepted and coached by P&K County Gents Association at Gleneagles. Megan and Emily Aird have also been selected by P&K County Ladies Association for the same coaching.
The next squad with be the Intermediate and will be made up of players who are passed the beginners stage but not quite to the standard of Congu handicap. Fergus Martin has agreed to take these player under his wing and it is hopeful that the Blue Course will be available for them to play their competitions throughout the summer.
And last but not least will be what I think is the most important squad, the beginners. This is the squad where our future players will come from and if we can grap their attention at this stage then hopefully they will continue through the squads. Jackie Moran has agreed to look after and make this squad as much fun as possible for all the players. She is already organising there own logo and lots of fun days and competitions starting with the 'Leaping Launch' which is to taking place on Sunday 17th February.
Other volunteers are Frank Moran who will be in charge of Fund Raising and Sponsorship, Dawn Butchart who along with Jackie will take care of handicaps, Dawn will also be available for any rulings and Stephen Schofield who will remain as convener. Both Lady and Gent Captains, Jane and Lewis, and our President Peter Tinker have also given their full support to the numerous meetings which have been held over the winter. David Norman has also been invloved in all meetings and has generously agreed to continue to fund the coaching and will support the juniors in any way that he can.
There are also lots more volunteers who have already went through disclosure to allow them to help out on days when competitions are being held. However if you are at all interested please contact us as there will be plenty to do!
We really wish our junior section all the very best and have set up a this new website purely for you our juniors.
We will post all the draws and dates of competitions plus any news items of interest. I have put a links at the right hand side of this page for both boys and girls to the SLGA and SGU where you will find entry sheets to all the Scottish Events. Iain will keep the boys up to date with the SGU Boys events and Dawn will keep the girls up to speed with all the Girls Scottish events which we would advise you to enter.
If there is anything else you would like to see, or links you would like let me know!
