STRATHMORE'S SNOWMAN!

It is almost the beginning of the season and Strathmore Golf Club had an unexpected visit from a 'Snowman' today!!! Lets hope its the last we see of him for a while!!

Well done to Frankie Moran for making a good job of him!!
STRATHMORE JUNIOR OPEN

Strathmore are holding their first ever Junior Open!!! It is very exciting and we really hope that all of you who hold a 'Congu Handicap' can all come along and take part.

It will be held on Tuesday 29th July. Tee Times will be from 10am. The entry fee is £5.00 and there will be a host of prizes for all age categories and handicap levels.

To entry just click on the link on the right of this page and download an entry form, fill it up then pop it into the office at the golf club.

Please lets make this a great success and the only way that will happen is if you COME ALONG!!

MCTAVISH CUP

The annual McTavish Cup takes place on Sunday 13th April. The sign up list has been place on your board at the Club House so please get your names up as soon as possible.

Please note to take part you must have a handicap (club or congu) for the wee course, so if you still haven't got your handicap get your three cards in now!! Remember one card must be marked by a member of the junior committee so give us a phone and we will be happy to go out with you. Jackie has already arranged to take a few of you out on the 30th so if you would like to join that group give Jackie a call. EASTER FUN DAY

Well done all who took part in our Easter Fun Day on Saturday. 28 of you came along and helped make the Easter Fun Day another huge sucess. The scoring was also fantastic. So very well done to you all!!

Above is the winning team of Team Captain Jane Taylor, Emily Aird, Alister Goodfellow, Michael McGilvery and James Wallace with a magnificent score of 30! Well done. In second place was Team Captain Stephen Schofield, Ryan Craig, Frankie Moran and Cory Miller with 31 and in third place Team Captain Iain Butchart, Daryl Todd, Sandy McGregor, Robbie Smith and Brad Bannerman also with 31. Well done everyone and special thanks to Elite Convenor Iain Butchart for supplying the eggs and who along with Beginners Convenor Jackie worked very hard on the day organising your registration, getting you all into teams and making sure your Certificates were ready for prizegiving. Also thanks to the Centre for printing the certificates and for making us all feel very welcome.

Special congratulations also go to the only two juniors who brought along a painted egg. Well done Robbie and Ally who were of course joint first!!
Also on the day the junior section was presented with a cheque for £205.00 from the Perth and Kinross Sports council. Junior Convenor Stephen Schofield accepted the cheque on behalf of the junior section and our thanks go to Perth and Kinross for this generous donation.

    CELTIC MANAGER ENQUIRES HOW LEAPING LAUNCH WENT.

    Whilst Iain and Dawn were waiting in the departure lounge at Glasgow Airport they were approached by Celtic Manager Gordon Strachan who was keen to learn how the Leaping Launch went and hoped that a lot of names were up for the Easter Fun Day.

    So come on don't let the man down and get your names up NOW!!

    We hope to meet around 10.30am and tee off around 11am.

    It was great fun at the Leaping Launch and I am sure we will all have lots of fun on Saturday. So please try and come along and meet everyone!

    JUST A WEE REMINDER!


    The Easter Fun Day entry form is on your notice board. This is being held on Saturday 15th of March and if you came along to the Leaping Launch you will have seen how much fun we had so please come along again on the 15th. And of course for those of you who could not make the Leaping Launch come along and enjoy a junior day at Strathmore! If you are not going to be down to the golf club before the day to sign up then just give one of us a phone call or EMail me and let me know you can come along! We will Tee off at 11am but would ask that you come along at 10.30am to register and make up teams.

    Certifcates will once again be awarded and if the Easter Bunny has any eggs ready then there may be some of them as well!! Hope so!
