SEASONS NOT FINISHED YET

Just had a very excited Kirsten messaging saying she had she had just received an email confirming her place in the final of the Race to Kingsbarns. She is also the only girl amongst the 24 qualifiers. What a brilliant achievement and just deserves for reducing her handicap by an amazing 11 shots this year, so far.

WHAT A RESULT

P&K JUNIOR GIRLS GOLF 2017 TROPHY WINNERS.
A Clean Sweep for Strathmore
Scratch Champion - Kirsty Brodie
Handicap Champion - Megan Ashley
Drysdale Trophy - Amy Mitchell
Dallas Trophy - Kirsten Miller
McPherson Medals - Scratch - Kirsty Brodie, Handicap - Kirsten Miller
Order of Merit - Scratch - Amy Mitchell, Handicap - Kirsten Miller
I am so proud of what these girls have achieved this season, each one of them have made huge improvements to their games and it's no surprise to me that they won all the P&K Girls Events.
Both Kirsty and Megan were members of P&K Ladies Jamboree winning team at Nairn and at the Scottish Finals at Glenbervie. They both also played for the Scottish School's Team. Kirsty represented Scotland at the European Team Championship in Finland and at the Home Internationals in Birmingham. Megan played for Scotland U16's at Montrose making her International debut. She also won the North of Scotland Girls handicap Championship, but my personal highlight for Megan was when she just missed the cut at the British Women's Open Stroke Play Championship by 1 shot, what an achievement for a Junior.

CONGRATULATIONS TO AMY

Well done Amy. Just had it confirmed she is our latest category 1 player. 5.1 exact so pleased for her and really excited for next season.

RACE TO KINGSBARNS FINAL JUNIOR OPEN

Crieff held the final junior Open of the season on Sunday. Kirsten played one under the css whilst Amy had her round of the season with a one over par gross 75, well done to both girls. I took Blair Hockley out for 18 holes on the big course and am delighted to say I was very impressed with his ball stricking and have recommended he upgrades his membership next year to included Rannaleroch. He is the first from the class of 2017 to do so and I imagine before the beginning of next season there could be some more, as long as they keep playing and practicing. Megan played in the Ladies Champion of Champions at Gleneagles and despite playing well just couldn’t score but as she admitted she has identified improvement areas and now has an action plan in place over the winter to work on. The Centre have kindly donated half of the money raised in the raffle at the recent seniors Open to the junior section and as their share goes towards the Centre’s Junior coaching programme I intend using the £160 to fund any extra individual coaching I feel is required for any of the junior members. Huge thank you once again to the Centre.
Have had a few replies to my email regarding who’s playing over the winter and would appreciate if the others could let me know ASAP.

2017 ONLY GETS BETTER FOR MEGAN

After making her Scottish debut at Montrose last week Megan has been selected as a Scottish Golf Supported Player which will make 2018 very exciting for her and I can't wait to see how much more progress she can make.
