JUNIOR CAPTAIN'S DRIVE IN

Sunday was the opening day of the Junior Season for 2009. Our Junior Captain Grant Martin kicked off the season by driving off the 1st tee of Leiftie to the delight of 15 juniors who came along to play. Vice Captain Megan Aird was unable to attend due to County commitments but Rory Tinker stepped in for her and led the way for the Vice Captains team.

All juniors with Club or Congu handicaps played stroke play and their nett scores were added together and all other players went out with either Iain and Dawn for a texas scramble and the score for this was also added to the teams final tally. After checking all the scores the Captains Team were the winners and were presented with the 'Junior Putter'. Below is a photo of the winning team.

A great day was had by all and many thanks go to the Centre who provided all the juniors with an excellent lunch.

WINTER LEAGUE WINNER

The winner of the 2009 Winter League is our youngest participant Matthew Sime. Matthew has played brilliantly all winter and is a very worthy winner. Many thanks to all of you who played during the winter regardless of the awful conditions.

Many players received a handicap reduction. Notably Tod Bannerman who had the biggest cut. He reduced his handicap from 48 down to an amazing 39. Ryan Craig along the winner Matthew Sime both had a brilliant 6 shot reduction. Ryan reduced his handicap from 45 to 39 and Matthew from 32 to 26.

Well done to all who took part and especially our winner Matthew.

WELL DONE HANNAH

Junior member Hannah Robb really stole the show yesterday during the Ladies Leitfie Links Championships when she not only returned the best scratch score but also the best handicap, WOW HANNAH!!!

However during the Leitfie Championships a player can only win one of the championships, either Scratch or Handicap and as Scratch takes precedence then Hannah is now the new reigning Ladies Leiftie Links Scratch Champion.

Well done Hannah, we are all very proud of you!!

FUN DAY

What a great day Saturday turned out to be! We were very pleased to see so many of you coming along for our first Fun Texas Scramble event. The rain stayed off and even better there was no snow!! The scoring was absolutely brilliant with only the best last 6 separating the first and second places.

The overall winners were Rory Tinker and brothers Tod and Brad Bannerman with a fantastic one over par 30. In second place, again with 30, was Junior Captain Grant Martin, Cameron Gray and Emily Aird and in third place with 31 was the team of Junior Convener Iain Butchart, Matthew Sime and Kirsty Brodie. Above is a photo of the winning team and below are of 2nd and 3rd place teams.

Well done everyone who took part and many thanks to the centre for the juice and to Lesley for presenting the prizes.

Lesley will keep you up to date with the two events which are coming up so watch this space! Below is a slide show of the day. As always if you would like me to forward any photos just give me a call.
