WELL DONE AMY MITCHELL

Got a call today from a very excited Amy Mitchell to let me know she had been invited to join the Scottish Golf Academy programme and becomes the 3rd Strathmore player to do so. I am delighted as her hard work and commitment deserve this and I am sure she will benefit greatly from this tremendous opportunity and would like to thank her for her kind words regarding my help and also the support she has received from Strathmore.

SO CLOSE BUT OH SO FAR

Today at Alyth Strathmore took on Blairgowrie and I was very confident our players were up to the task. After the first few holes only Marcus was ahead and things were not looking good. Conor squared his match after 6 but then quickly found himself 3 down. Callum who had been 5 down fought back to be only 2 down and Amy who had been behind turned things around and was 2 up. With Marcus maintaining his form and winning 5&3, Conor lost 5&4, Callum lost 6&4, Amy won 3&2 and it was up to Tod who squared his match on 17 so all was to play for on the last hole and with a decent tee shot his opponents tee shot hit a tree and ended up back in the first cut. Ally played first and missed the green left and when Tod hit the green it was advantage Strathmore until Ally played a fantastic pitch to 18 inches and Tod left his approach putt short and missed his par and leaving Ally the opportunity to win the match which he converted and for the 2nd year we lost out on a final appearance. All players will learn from the experience and hopefully will progress and take things forward into next years competition.
Michael, Brad and Alex played in the cash for kids at Ashludie this morning enjoyed the experience and helped the charity raise some much needed funds for their projects over Tayside.

RECORD WIN IN THE 3 MAN TEAM EVENT

Today at Blairgowrie Michael, Brad and Alex blew the opposition away with an amazing 17 shot win. With only the best  2 scores counting Brad's 3 under par 69 and Alex's 1 over par 73 Strathmore have again created another record by not only winning this for the 1st time but by the margin victory. I am so proud of our players and what they achieve and they never fail to deliver their best when representing the club. Well done !

SCOTS IN LORETTO SCOTTISH U14s OPEN CH/SHIP
