2021 THE FUTURE IS LOOKING BRIGHTER

With vaccines now being rolled out hopefully during this year we can get back to something like 2019. 2020 obviously had many restrictions on Golf and how the section operated but I am delighted to say we had many successes. Junior Captain Kirsten Miller won a Scottish Junior Tour Girls nett event and was also selected as an Ambassador for the Barrie Douglas Foundation. Stuart Duncan became P&K Junior Match Play Champion. Although total member numbers dropped slightly we welcomed 7 new members and finished the season with 59 members. 4 players attained Full Congu Handicaps, 5 attained Fun Handicaps, 9 First Certificates and 8 Second Certificates were also achieved. Family Fun Days made a return with up to 28 taking part and coaching recommenced with Gareth and Rory our PGA Professionals. The improvements I have seen this year have been amazing with many players reducing their handicaps. My Club Hire Scheme was adopted by Scottish Golf and had been rolled out nationally just before the first lockdown. We had 49 sets hired out to our 59 members and 14 trolleys as well.

2021 is off to a flyer with 2 new members, Callum (pictured) and Rory both also joined the Club Hire Scheme and Rory also needed a trolley. Peggy Kennedy has decided to join Rannaleroch and look forward to seeing her progression. The forecast for the weekend is improving so as Golf is still allowed in 2 balls hopefully we might get out and look forward to seeing you all soon.
