We have a new leader with Archie pipping Ellie-Marie. I went down to see them tee off and Archie’s tee shot was 10 yds short of the green and Ellie-Marie was 5 yds short of the green, so knew it was going to be a close run thing. Archie’s 36th shot was on the 8th green with Ellie-Marie holing out on the 7th. Think these 2 will have lots of close matches and I’m so excited so see their progress.

CAPTAIN V VICE CAPTAIN
Cammy’s team of Ally, Jessica, Keir and Leighton won “Phil’s Putter” with a fantastic score of 2 under par. Jessica had her first birdie on the 5th with a great tee shot and a single putt. Cammy had the other birdie and all 5 contributed to the 7 pars on the other holes. New member Ally showed a lot of potential and I’m looking forward to see how he performs on the Rannaleroch course. Was also really impressed by Ellie-Marie today and see why she won yesterday’s flag competition, her driving was phenomenal. Looking forward to seeing how she and Jessica do on Rannaleroch. Archie was fitted for a new set of hire clubs and is also trading up to Rannaleroch. Nate who is waiting on an operation on his thumb has not renewed his membership and came along to drop of his hire equipment and also donated a Footjoy top he had outgrown and gave Dawn and myself a fantastic goody bag. He’s definitely welcome back anytime and we hope he gets his op soon and makes a speedy and complete recovery.

NEW SEASON OFF TO A FLIER
First up Keir who had outgrown his clubs and was refitted for a new set and then went out and shot 55 over 9 holes on Rannaleroch, which could have been better if he’d had fewer putts. Next up Cammy, Conan and Stuart who were out and after 9 holes Cammy was well ahead. We also held our first Flag Competition and Ellie-Marie took the honours by nearly reaching the 8th green. Jessica finished 2nd and new member Andrew was a close 3rd by both finishing on the 7th green. Brandon playing his first individual competitive game did really well and I was very impressed especially his tee shot on the 3rd. Andrew who had a 5 on the 1st achieved his 1st Certificate by holing out for a 6 on the 9th. Dawn was very impressed with Andrew especially his putting and looks like he will be a bright prospect and challenging for team places. Ellie-Marie is now going to trade up to the Rannaleroch course and wants to get her handicap asap. With so many youngsters showing so much potential looks like 2023 will be another fantastic year.
