Today at Crieff Allan won the Stroke Play Championship with a tremendous level par round. Allan is delighted with the win which sets him up in good stead for next weeks Scottish Under 18 at Dunbar. Allan telephoned with this great news and thanked the Junior Section and Strathmore Golf Centre for their support. After his winning debut for Perth and Kinross Gents last week, this triumph confirms Allan as an exceptional talent and we will continue to support him in his golfing ambitions. All the hard work and practice Allan put in during the winter has paid off and 2011 looks like being his year. Well done and good luck for the rest of the season.
Rory Tinker had to withdraw due to injury and Michael Brodie could not replacate his morning form which saw him taking the lead in the handicap section of the 72 Hole Gents Strokeplay with a nett 66 in turn reducing his own handicap to 10. Michael enjoyed his 1st experience at this level and no doubt will learn from it.
Congratulations also go to Emily Aird who won Best Scratch score in the Ladies Spring Meeting. This will give Emily a huge boost just before herself and Kirsty Brodie take part in the Scottish Under 16 Girls to be held at Strathmore this week.
Well done for your great starts to the season and good luck to Brad Bannerman and Alex Simpson who play in the P&K Under 14 Coaching Medal at Blairgowrie on Sunday morning
