STRATHMORE SUCCESS AT KINGSBARNS ROUNDS OFF A GREAT SEASON

What a great day and oh so near to being spectacular with Alex just missing the scratch prize and Kirsty and Tod finishing 1st and 2nd in the handicap section
On a blustery but bright day on Saturday 25th October at Kingsbarns, 24 players battled through strong winds and returned credible scores in tricky conditions. The event sponsored by the BLUE group and in partnership with Kingsbarns has seen all Junior Opens in the county return bumper entries, often record entries, and has generated energy and interest in competitive junior golf. The prizes were presented by Amateur Champion Bradley Neil who brought with him the Championship Trophy, where all players were shown exactly what can be achieved with dedication, ability and hard work. In its inaugural year this event has been simply outstanding. There are already plans to improve the format and encourage greater competition in age bands, all of which will be advertised and broadcast early in 2015. Thanks to all clubs for supporting this initiative; hopefully you’ll agree it’s been worth it!
The final results on the day were:
Scratch
Winner & Salver               Stewart Burns, Pitlochry (78)
Runner Up                          Alex Simpson, Strathmore (79)(BIH)
Handicap
Winner & Salver               Kirsty Brodie, Strathmore (73)
Runner Up                          Tod Bannerman, Strathmore (74)(BIH)
