ALEX HAS ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL TRIP WITH SCOTLAND

Alex was undefeated on day one halving his singles match and winning his doubles match in the afternoon. Today he lost his singles but with Scotland under 16's losing 17.5 to 7.5 Alex will be proud to have secured 1.5 of the points and can now look forward to his next big tournament, the Nick Faldo series Final. He also received confirmation that he will be in the Academy programme again next year.
Ben Falconer and Conan Reid both attained their 1st Certificates and both boys are showing a lot of promise.

AMY CELEBRATES HER CONFIRMATION

Having secured her place in year 3 at the Academy Amy went out shot her lowest round ever, 76 and reduced he handicap to 8.1. After a season with an injury which kept her out for nearly 2 months this is so richly deserved and who knows what next season will bring ??

RUNNERS UP

Alex and I were attempting to defend our Gents Four Ball title but fell short. We were 3 down at the turn, having lost 2,4,5 & 7 and winning 3. We won 10,11 & 12 to square the match, lost 14 won 15 and then Mark holed a 20ft putt to birdie 16 and had a 3 nett 2 to close out the match 2&1. Our first loss in 2 years. Maybe next year ?

SCRATCH LEAGUE SEMI FINAL 2ND LEG RESULT

Unfortunately we lost out to Kinross today, 2 games to 1, and wish them the best of luck in the final. Alex lost 2&1, Tod lost 4&3 and Amy won 6&5, she was 1 under par through 13 and finished her match birdie birdie. It was great to see Megan come along to support the team and also to catch up with Hannah Robb who had come along for a game.

Tomorrow it's now the big one, the Gents four ball final and as defending champions Alex and I will definitely be up for it and trying to make up for the disappointment of today's result. This competition is one of my favourites and having won it twice with my best mate Gary Smith before he left for Australia, twice with Jerry Wood and once with Michael Brodie and as I already said last year with Alex, I want to make it number 7 and 3 in a row !!!! Don't think I will sleep much tonight too excited. Bring it on !!!
