Alex tees of tomorrow in the 20th Faldo Series Grand Final with many of the world’s best young amateurs competing over three days. Players heralding from 19 nations will join Sir Nick Faldo at Stoke-By-Nayland Hotel for the World Amateur Golf Ranking event.
Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf & Spa in Colchester will host winners from European Faldo Series events, winners from the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final, selected invitees as chosen by the PGA of America and for the first-time ever, invitees from the ANNIKA Foundation.
The Faldo Series and Annika Sorenstam, through her ANNIKA Foundation, are collaborating in an effort to grow global awareness and opportunity through golf.
Players will be tested by the superb Gainsborough course at the multi award-winning resort on the Essex/Suffolk border. The venue has regularly hosted international, televised PGA and European Senior tour events.
Faldo Series Asia Champion Arjun Prassad will have the tantalising goal of holding both the Asian and the European titles in his sights. PGA of America invitee Frankie Capan will also be in the hunt for the top prize having competed with distinction in 2015.

Sir Nick has been a leading light in providing opportunity to young people through golf for so many years and it’s great to be able to support this effort. We hope the players will enjoy the experience and challenge of the Gainsborough course.”
Sir Nick will run clinics throughout the week, sharing his knowledge from over 35 years of playing at the highest level. He will be watching the competition with keen interest and offering his insight to the young players. The PGA will be on hand, amongst many other experts, to advise players during the week on the many career paths within the game of golf. Faldo’s personal coach Keith Wood will also be in attendance and available to share his expertise.
Competitors aged 12 to 21 will compete for the title of Faldo Series Champion over 54 holes at on the Gainsborough course at Stoke-By-Nayland. The field will be split into five age-categories, with three boys and two girls to receive a trophy and an exemption into the eleventh Faldo Series Asia Grand Final in 2017. The leading boy and girl will be invited to play in a professional Tour event.
Today, 40 Faldo Series tournaments take place in 30-plus countries worldwide, touching thousands of golfers each year. Past winners include Major Champions Tseng Ya-ni and Rory McIlroy, who took his tally of professional Major titles to four with his wins at the 2014 Open Championship and US PGA Championship.
