STRATHMORE GIRLS TO THE FORE

Past Strathmore Junior Hazel MacGarvie (Stirling University) extended her lead at the top of the West of Scotland Trophy students' golf tournament leaderboard to six shots after a three over par second round of 74 at Western Gailes Golf Club today. A couple of birdies helped the former Scottish U18 girls champion to reach the 15th in level par, before four dropped shots over three holes threatened to allow the rest of the field back into the competition. However she bounced back to birdie the last and ensure that the competition is in her hands heading into Wednesday's final round. Past club mate Kirsty Brodie (Strathmore) representing (Scottish Golf) is tied 2nd and it’s great to see these 2 girls performing so well.
