Congratulations to Keir Reid who shot a nett 70 today with a lost ball, great scoring. Dawn was very impressed by his play. I took out Keegan Fergusson, and Hunter McQueen joined as to assess his readiness to upgrade. He managed nine holes and played a lot of good shots but I think he maybe needs another year. His putting was good which will help with his progress. It’s been a while since I played along with Keegan and what a transformation. His ball striking has improved so much and his putting was phenomenal. His score did not reflect his play and there were so many positives to take from today. I was also very impressed on how he encouraged Hunter and gave him advice. His maturity also shone through by his reaction to the couple of poor shots. He didn’t dwell on them but concentrated on his next shot and made them count. He has a goal for 2026 of achieving a Gleneagles Scholarship and it is definitely a possibility on what I witnessed today. Archie Loudon played along with Dawn and she felt he was rushing his swing so hopefully he takes her advice and just slow it down a wee bit. He has had a great season and just needs to play his own game.
