WHAT A RESULT

Today saw another amazing result by Strathmore Juniors Scratch League Team. Callum Sinclair and Alex Simpson were making their debuts in Scratch League and it could not have been any harder than playing against league leaders Creiff away from home. Ross Dallas led the team out and found himself 3 down against Callum McGuigan but fought back to take his match to the last green where he missed a putt to tie and lost out by one hole. Brad Bannerman won the first 4 holes and his result was never in doubt eventually winning 5&4. Rory Dyce was in a tense match with Clair Gadsby and going to the last all square Rory held his nerve to secure a great victory. This left our two debutant's with the the task of trying to secure a victory and neither of them disappointed . Callum Sinclair who was 3 down after 11 won 5 holes on the trot to go dormie and won on 17. And finally Alex Simpson who was never behind won his match 4&3 and our 2 debutant's wins meant we had defeated the League leaders away and are now favourites to take 1st place in the Red section which would put us in the semi final against the runners up of the Blue section.
I say this all the time and nothing surprises me about what our Juniors achieve. The camaraderie and support they give to each other is amazing and the fun and enjoyment they get out of playing as a team is joy to behold. I am so proud of our players and look forward to the next match against Blairgowrie at Strathmore on the 19th of August.
