Tonight saw Michael Brodie current Gents club champion take on Tod Bannerman and Tod gave it his best shot and with a great birdie on 4 which showed he showed he was going to make a match of it but his second birdie on 10 was unfortunately not good enough as Michael eagled it and closed the match out on 13 with a birdie. The other match between current Junior club champion Alex Simpson and Kirsty Brodie was a closer affair. Kirsty conceeded 12 after having to take a drop and Alex went ahead with a birdie on 13, Kirsy eagled 14 to square the Alex birdied 15 to go back in front. 16 and 17 were halved with Kirsty holing a great 10ft putt on 17 to take the match up 18. Alex found the rough off the tee but recovered to be able to hit his 3rd shot short of the green and it was advantage Kirsty who was first to play her chip and left it 12ft short. Alex composed himself knowing he had to get up and down to avoid any chance of going up 19 and played a sublime pitch which was conceeded and Kirsty was left to hole her putt to extend the match but left her putt short.
Both games were played in tremendous spirit and I am so proud of all 4 players - their attitude and friendships were shown in both matches and it makes me so happy to see kids who I have seen develop into very mature young adults who know how to conduct themselves both on and off the course. Their parents should be so proud of how they conduct themselves.

KIRSTY BRODIE EQUALS MURRAYSHALL LADIES COURSE RECORD
GARETH TAKES THE LONG WALK
On Saturday at the coaching after Gareth and Amy's match with Callum and Conor was tied a play off took place and again was tied. Gareth decided a nearest the pin on the first would decide the winner. I joined them and suggested that the loser - furthest away from the pin - would need to retrieve the 5 balls. Gareth went first and left his tee shot short, Conor hit his past Gareth as did Amy, Callum found the green as did I and Gareth was left to take the long and lonely walk.
CRIEFF DENT OUR CHANCES OF FINISHING TOP SEEDS
We need a win against Blargowrie at Strathmore to guarantee a top 4 finish and make the Scratch League semi finals after losing 4 v 1 against a strong Crieff team last night. Michael played some really steady golf and beat Callum McGuigan (Crieff Gents Club Champion as of Friday night) 5&4. Brad Bannerman lost by the same margin to Rory Stewart. Alex Simpson lost 1 down after being 3 up with 5 to play. Kirsty Brodie lost 4&3 to Matthew Scott and Tod Bannerman lost 4&2 to Cameron Grieve. A combination of some poor tee shots, course management and chipping and putting contributed to us losing but I am sure that can all be rectified before Saturdays match.
If we get the win and secure 8 points then the 6 other teams are left with 12 points available to play for and depending on results we will have to wait and see who joins us.
After Saturdays match Alex and I are off to the Allianz Golf Camp staying at the 5 star Fairmont Hotel. The schedule is full on and looks like it we are going to have a busy time with lots of fun. Can't wait !

FINAL RESULTS FROM NICK FALDO SERIES
Michael Brodie put up a stern defence of his title and finished a creditable 4th equal only 3 shots behind.
Kirsty Brodie finished 3rd equal only 6 shots behind.
A good 3 days with a lot of positives and I am sure for years to come this event will be a stepping stone for our juniors.

DEFENDING CHAMPION MAKES HIS MOVE
Michael Brodie shot a 2 under par 68 (the best round of the day) to move within 2 shots of the lead and will be in the final group. He said in today's round he found the right parts of the greens and took advantage of that and is looking forward to tomorrow. Brad Bannerman improved his position and Alex Simpson remains in 11th place in the under 16 section. Good luck to everyone tomorrow.
