ANOTHER WEEK - ANOTHER RECORD - AND MORE !

Alex Simpson has this year been selected for all age group section matches for P&K at under 18,16,15 & 14 levels a record I believe that will never be matched. His handicap is now 3 and realistically next season a 1 handicap is attainable and with the coaching he receives through the Scottish Academy programme and Strathmore Juniors with Gareth combined with the Strathmore Scholarship scheme he is well on track to add to his long list of achievements.
Amy Mitchell is just back from her induction weekend to the Academy at Inverclyde and is really excited for next year and after knocking 3 shots off her handicap last week I believe she could be a single figure player next year.
With Kirsty Brodie already established in the Scottish Academy programme Strathmore is proving to be a tremendous breeding ground for Scottish golf and it's future development.
Watching the next batch of youngsters at the coaching I can already see 2 or 3 who have made improvements and it won't be long until they are ready to follow in the steps of Kirsty, Alex and Amy.

I must again thank Allianz on behalf of Alex and myself as both of us seemed to have benefited from their Golf Camp experience. Alex now playing off 3 and gaining his 1st Scottish cap and I am back down to 5.6 my lowest handicap for 3 years shooting my lowest rounds of the season recently and picking up 2 prizes at the Midlands Alliance - latest being part of a 3 man team nett better ball at Forfar with a score of 59 !!

Michael Brodie, Brad Bannerman and Alex also represented P&K in the Gary Harvey at the weekend - finishing second to Fife.

What a year this has been and on Saturday 20th it's the Scratch League semi final from 10am at Dunkeld against Craigiehill and Murrayshall. But before that Michael and myself play Scott Thomson and Chris Flannigan on Wednesday night in the Gents foursomes final.
