FIVE NEW members in one day. Met brothers Theo and Joel this afternoon and look forward to welcoming the other set of brothers Jack, Tom and Olly and I had another enquiry this morning !! All these boys joined after recommendations from existing members and hearing how great a Junior Section we have with so much going on. Free Lessons from our PGA Professionals, Free Balls, Free tees, ball markers, pencils, Free golf shoe swap scheme, the first Club Hire Scheme in the World (now adopted by Scottish Golf for all Clubs in the country) Certificates of achievement, Fun Handicaps, Full Handicaps, Weekly organised competitions and Leagues which can be played in 365 days per year. Flag Competitions, GolfSixes Team, Bell Trophy team and Scratch League team. Something for everybody. With 11 new members so far this year another record may go yet. Have just ordered £3,500 of new Clubs to enhance the Hire Scheme and give Strathmore Juniors a better chance to progress their game. Why buy clubs when you can rent a set for £25 per year. We also hire trolleys for £5 per year. We have 2 Courses so 27 holes, a flood lit driving range, practice area with a bunker, putting green and fantastic catering in a child friendly Clubhouse with no stuffy dress code. Golf should be fun and in achieving that is why we keep on attracting youngsters to come to Strathmore and try golf.
