Superb golf played tonight in miserable conditions cold, wet and windy - 2nd July - summer ??
First semi final pitched brothers Brad Bannerman against Tod. Tod took an early lead and held out to the 5th where a lost ball squared the match Brad won 6 with a birdie and won 7 and turned 2 up. A birdie at 10 made it 3 and another at 12 made 4 and 4 up. The match finished on 14 with Brad being 1 over and Tod only 6 over. Great match.
The second semi final was between Kirsty Brodie and Alex Simpson, Alex won the 1st Kirsty the 3rd, Alex the 4th, Kirsty the 5th, Alex the 7th and 8th and Kirsty the 9th to turn one down. A birdie at 11 put Alex 2 up but 13 saw Kirsty pull it back to 1. Alex won 14 to restore his 2 hole lead and was unfortunate when his approach shot to 16 hit the pin and came back off the green, a halved hole made it dormie. Alex hit the 17th pin high and Kirsty was unlucky not to hole her tee shot on 17 only to see it run 15ft past. Kirsty hit a good putt but it finished just short of the hole leaving Alex 2 to win but he only needed 1 and secured his place in the final with a birdie.
A great scratch final in prospect Brad v Alex. Conor and Marcus contest the handicap final and with both Kirsty and Michael playing in the Ladies and Gents final it's not going to be just another Saturday !!
