MY CONFIDENCE IN SCRATCH LEAGUE TEAM IS PROVEN BEYOND DOUBT

My confidence has cascaded down to our players who also believe they have the ability to go all the way this season. Kirsty made quick work of her match winning by a personal best 9&7 and was off the course first to support Michael who led by example and eagled the 1st to set up a great 5&4 win. Tod was next up with a tremendous 7&5 win. Brad and Alex's matches were a bit closer and Brad after going 1 down to a birdie on 9 birdied 10 and 11 to go back to 1 up then went all square losing to a birdie on 12 (4 holes 4 birdies, tough school!) he birdied 15 (4th of his round) to go one one up lost 17 but won 18 to go 2up. Alex was dormie after 16 lost 17 but also won 18 to finish 2 up. What a team performance. Before they teed off they warmed up and practised together, during the match they always wanted to know how each other was doing and when their matches were finished they joined me to support their team mates. I also introduced a new concept today, players - player of the day, a secret vote and Michael was the proud recipient.
This result sets us up for another fantastic season with more success guaranteed.

Next matches confirmed -
Saturday 19th April - Auchterarder away
Saturday 17th May - Muckhart away
Sunday 29th June - Crieff away

Home matches against Craigie Hill/Murrayshall and Blairgowrie still to be confirmed.

Just received this email and would like to share -
Congratulations to the Junior Scratch Team for their win over Pitlochry today.
I played with Alex yesterday at the Captain's Drive In event. It was a privilege! I just wish I'd had my binoculars with me to see where his drives landed! All were on his target even though I had no idea where they ended up!
Once again I have enjoyed playing with one of the talented youngsters who are coached and inspired by you. His course etiquette and care shown to a me were without fault. I was particularly impressed by his reactions to a missed putt....while obviously disappointed he was able to absorb a lesson from it, retrying the putt if possible, but never showing a temper.
Whatever you are doing Iain you are doing it well!
Good luck to all the Juniors, in all of their events, for 2014.

And another from the Centre -

I’m not sure which one I liked best – the result or the letter from Kay! Awesome result, and wonderful and well deserved comments from Kay. You’ll have done well to have kept the eyes dry! Sincere congratulations to all concerned.
