FIRST WEEK OF THE SEASON AND ANOTHER FIRST

Alex Simpson played his way into Strathmore history by becoming our first winner on the international scene. He was in the Scottish under 16 team who today won the Quadrangle International at Archerfield between Scotland, Ireland, Wales and Netherlands.
The format was an 8 boy team playing 4 foursomes in the morning and 8 singles in the afternoon and after halving with Ireland on Friday convincing wins against Wales 8&4 and Netherlands 9&3. I am so proud for Alex and his parents and was privileged to witness the win. I predicted a National title for our next target but didn't envisage an International win. Juniors 1 v Iain's predictions 0 but still time for the equaliser ! I can't wait for our next success ?
