England's domination of the SLGA Under-16 girls open stroke-play championship continued at Strathmore Golf Centre today when 15-year-old Hollie Muse from West Lancashire Golf club won the title by three shots with a nine-under-par tally for the 36-hole test.
Aboyne's Shannon McWilliam, the 15-year-old Scottish schoolgirls champion and winner of the SLGA Champion of Champions title earlier this season, finished second with rounds of 68 and 70 for 138.
Muse, who shot a course record 65 in the first round, added a second day 70 for an impressive 135 total
Hollie, three ahead overnight, had five birdies in her second round of two under par, while McWilliam highlighted 70 with an eagle three at the 18th (her ninth hole) and a hat-trick of birdies at the 10th, 12th and third.
Emily Price (Cleobury Mortimer) pipped Hazel MacGarvie (Troon Ladies) for third prize. They both finished on 142
MacGarvie had four birdies in a level par 72 in the second round and Price also had a quartet of birdies in a 71 to take third place on the better second round .
Mirren Fraser (Powfoot) was the third Scot to make it into the top five. She followed an opening 77 with a four birdie 70 to finish in fifth place on 147. Kirsty Brodie improved on her first round score and was happier with her performance.
