SLGA UNDER 16 OPEN

Hollie Muse from West Lancashire set a new Course record with a seven-under-par 65 in the first round of the SLGA Under-16 girls' open stroke-play championship at the Strathmore Golf Centre

Hollie had an eagle at the 14th and six birdies spread over the third, fifth, eighth, 12th, 16th and 17th in halves of 33 (two under par) and 32 home (five under). A bogey at the sixth was the only blemish on an outstanding card.
Aboyne's Shannon McWilliam, recent winner of the Scottish women's champion of champions' tournament shot a 68. She took had a bag of six birdies - but no eagles. Shannon birdied the first, second sixth, 11th, 12th and 18th in halves of 32 and 36.
She bogeyed the 10th and 15th.
Our own Kirsty Brodie hopes to improve on her score in the second round today and we wish her all the best.
