ANOTHER PERSONAL RECORD TUMBLES

Kirsty Brodie is the latest record breaker, her personal best had been 77 and that was smashed tonight with a brilliant 74. Playing in the 2nd junior Club Championship qualifier a solid front nine 38 was followed by a 3 birdie (11th,14th & 15th) back nine of 1 under par 36. I accompanied Kirsty and Alex from the 13th where she hit the green for an easy par, a great drive down 14 followed by a utility to the centre of the green set up her 1st ever eagle putt which broke a bit more than envisaged but led to an easy birdie. Another great drive up 15 and a 2nd shot pin high right set up a birdie chance which was duly converted and as we walked to the 15th tee I asked if she had ever had 3 birdies in a row to which the confident reply was "not yet but soon" Another great drive down 16 followed by a well struck 2nd which unfortunately came up short of the green resulted in a 3 putt. A pulled tee shot on 17 finished pin high but was 30yds from the flag, a superb chip was only 6 inches from going in and a tap in par was secured. 18 produced a great dive splitting the fairway, a wood followed by another great chip led to a final birdie chance which touched the hole but failed to drop. What a round, 1.2 off the handicap now 6.6. Category 1 very soon.

Conor Hughes had another solid round and a nett 69 was 2 below the boys css of 71.

Looking forward to Saturday and our match with Kinross in the Junior Bell. Our team are all playing at the top of their form and I have great confidence and expect our team to repeat last years success against Kinross and with the improvements I have witnessed over the last weeks I am in no doubt the team will continue our run of successes.
