CORRESPONDANCE RECEIVED BY CENTRE FROM PERTH AND KINROSS LADIES CAPTAIN PAT COLQUHOUN

Dear David
Perth & Kinross Ladies County Golf Association
Once again we are indebted to Strathmore Golf Centre for the excellent service on the occasion of our Championships. Given the horrendous weather of late, the greenstaff have worked miracles in getting the course in such excellent condition. As always, the food is wonderful. I don’t know of any other club where you would be able to get bacon and sausage rolls before 8am. Neither would you be able to have a full meal when coming off the course after 9pm which our girls did on Thursday. They were most appreciative of being fed at that time as they had come straight from work and were starving by then. Maggie and her bar and catering staff are superb. Run off their feet but always smiling and friendly. Maggie really bent over backwards to see that we were looked after. I’m afraid I do not know the name of the gentleman in the shop but he managed to get the finalists out about an hour before the time booked. This got them away before the party and gave them a straight run through. The girls were also very impressed with your juniors who, on Saturday, stood aside without being asked, to let the semi-finalists play through. They have obviously been well trained in etiquette.
To-day, Sunday, many of the members stood aside or waited on the next tee to let the scratch semi finalists play through. These girls all hit the ball out of sight and in the final, they met with the same courtesy. Our thanks to all of them. To yourself in the office for all your help and kindness, our grateful thanks.
Please convey to all concerned our appreciation for the friendliness, hospitality and service afforded to us.
It is no surprise that the SLGA want a permanent home at Strathmore for the Scottish under 16’s Championships.
With sincere thanks.
Pat Colquhoun
